Ronald Dennis Padgett, 75, of Curtis, Nebraska, died January 29, 2022 at his home.

Ron was born September 7, 1946 in Colorado Springs, CO, son of James and Lela G. (Lamb) Padgett.  He grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and attended his schooling there graduating with the class of 1964.  Ron served his country in the Air Force as a Sergeant from October 1968 - October 1975.  On May 28, 1983 Ron married Rhonda Davis in Garden City, KS.  He worked as a meat inspector for the USDA until his health wouldn't allow him to.  Ron loved to fish, hunt, and being with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Padgett of Curtis; three daughters, Sheila (Tom) Manley of Red Cloud, Kristie (Budd) Ward of Whiteville, NC, Kim (Kevin) Bernard of Curtis; two sons, Jay (Krissen) Padgett of IL, Shawn (Beth) Padgett of IL; 25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two sisters, Janet (Harold) Vass of Gothenburg, Cindy Padgett of Gothenburg; brother, Gary Padgett of Gothenburg.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents James and Lela Padgett, sister, Jacqueline Padgett, brother, Jim Padgett, son, Ron (Bubby) Padgett, Jr. and grandson, Colby Clark.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Wetzel- Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska; Wednesday, February 2, 2022, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th Street, Gothenburg, NE, Thursday,  February 3, 2022 at 12:30 pm with Pastor Greg Boller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes, American Heart Association or Wounded Warriors.
