Rand Nelson

Rand E. Nelson of Benson Arizona, passed away on June 11, 2021, in Tucson, Arizona.

Rand was born on November 8, 1940, to Elvin and Eleanor (Helberg) Nelson at Callaway.

He graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1958. Rand joined the Marine Corp in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He worked at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington and in law enforcement in Los Angeles, California, Nevada, and Arizona.

He married Mary Lou Pearson and they later divorced. He married Karen Gallagher in 1970.

Rand is survived by his wife Karen of Sun City, Arizona; daughter, Lori and husband Lee Mattingly of Henderson, Nevada; son, Lincoln of Denver, CO; Grandchildren Mathew of Henderson, Nevada and Mary of Highland, CA; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Pam Slack of Gothenburg; good friends and neighbors, Steve Mastosia, Tim Thompson, and Doug and Robin Akins all of Arizona; and his constant furry companion, Clyde.

Rand was preceded in death by Parents and his brother-in-law Raymond Slack.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00pm, at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
