Marlin Kuxhausen

Marlin Dean Kuxhausen, 82, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died April 6, 2022 at Gothenburg Health.

Marlin was born September 18, 1939 in Zion, IL.

He lived with his family at Zion, IL until 1949, when his mom, he and his brother moved to Morrill, NE.  He graduated from Morrill High School with the class of 1957 and then attended Kearney State College.  Marlin married Jacqueline Shaner in Morrill on April 30, 1961; to this union four children were born - Todd, Monte, Dayna and Betsy.   Marlin spent two years on the Scottsbluff Police Department before joining the Nebraska State Patrol for 30 years and a member of the S.W.A.T Team for troop D.  The family moved to Gothenburg in 1963.  Marlin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Gothenburg Lions Club where he served as the Past District Governor. He was a Nebraska state track meet official, enjoyed attending grandchildren's sporting events and activities, a member of the Nebraska state pistol team, past member of the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, and was often found at coffee with his friends, or spending time in his shop doing wood working.

Survivors include wife, Jackie Marie Kuxhausen of Gothenburg, NE; two sons, Todd (Kayla) Kuxhausen of West Point, NE, Monte (Stacy) Kuxhausen of Rapid City, SD; two daughters, Dayna (Arnold) Miller of Superior, NE, Betsy (friend Dan Shelby) Morrissey of Papillion, NE; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Kuxhausen; three grandsons, Brett Kuxhausen, Tyler Morrissey, Tanner Morrissey; two granddaughters, Angela Miller, Megan Miller; step-granddaughters, Logan and Campbell Consbruck; granddaughter-in-law Michelle Kuxhausen; sister-in-law, Jean (Bob) O'Neill; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Brad Kuxhausen, in-laws, Don and Edith Shaner, sisters-in-law Phyllis Shaner and Donna Swanson.

Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:30 pm with Rev. David Boyd officiating.

Memorials directed to the First Presbyterian Church, Gothenburg Lions Club, Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, or the Gothenburg Senior Center.
