Obituary

Marian Elaine (Sall) Larson, 89, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, passed away February 28, 2023, at Gothenburg Health.
Marian was born February 22, 1934, north of Gothenburg to Reuben and Gladys (Nelson) Sall.  As a young girl, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior.  She attended District 90 country school near Gothenburg through 7th grade and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1951.  After graduation, she worked at Public Power in Gothenburg until 1958.

On May 17, 1957, she married Mike Larson at the Evangelical Free Church in Gothenburg.  They were blessed with two children:  Todd and Karen.

Marian and Mike lived north of Gothenburg in Custer County where they farmed.  They were active members of the New Hope Evangelical Free Church.  She served as church treasurer for many years, taught Sunday School, was a youth group leader, and participated in White Cross and WMS.  She also enjoyed being a part of the local Extension Club and being a 4-H leader.  In 1979, Marian started working at the Gothenburg State Bank where she worked for 17 years.  After retirement, she and Mike enjoyed traveling, especially to see the grandkids.

Marian & Mike moved to Gothenburg in 2014.  They became members of the Evangelical Free Church (now Cornerstone Bible Church). After Mike's passing in 2016, she found encouragement through the Bible Studies she was a part of as well as the Gideons Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son Todd (Tammy) Larson and their daughters Tara (Lee) Corneau and Kelsey (Dan) Tran all of Smithers, B.C., Canada; her daughter Karen (Arden) Anderson of Chappell, NE, and their sons Lars (Ellen) Anderson of Malta, MT, Sven (Crystal) Anderson of Maxwell, NE, and Nels Anderson of Lincoln, NE; great-grandchildren Jude and Findlay Corneau, Nolan and Lucy Tran, Soren and Astrid Anderson, and Thor, Anja, and Rex Anderson; her sister Marlene (Sid) Andersen of Lexington, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
