Josephine Houchin

Josephine  Houchin, 90, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died February 5, 2022 at Mother Hull Home in Kearney, NE.

She was born March 19, 1931 in Ashton, NE, daughter of Robert and Clara (Jarzynka) Kwiatkowski.

Josephine married Arthur Houchin on October 12, 1953.  To this union four children were born: William, Rita, Michael and Cynthia.  She was quite a talented woman.  While the children were young she was a homemaker.  Through her life she worked as a CNA, MedAid, and Masseuse, Upholstery work and was an employee at Island Dehydration in Cozad, NE.

Survivors include two sons, William Joseph (Pam) Houchin of Riverdale, Michael Allen Houchin of Gothenburg; two daughters, Rita (Rick) Fiese of Gothenburg, Cynthia Marie (Roy) Crites of Arcadia; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great great grandson, sister Mae Helmuth of Ogallala.

Josephine was preceded in death by husband, Arthur Houchin,  three grandsons, James Michael Houchin, Christopher Lee Metzger, and Shawn Lynn Crites, daughter-in-law, Pamela Mary Houchin, parents Robert and Clara Kwiatkowski, two sisters, Grace Wardyn, Louella Methe,  five brothers, Delphine Kwiatkowski,  Richard Kwiatkowski,  Robert Kwiatkowski, Jr, Ralph Kwiatkowski, and Aloysius "Al" Kwiatkowski.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE; Thursday, February 10, 2022, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with family present 4:00 -6:00 pm.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:30 am.

Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery
