John Evert

John Evert, 78, of Brady, Nebraska, died September 12, 2021at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington, NE.

John was born April 6, 1943 in Hyannis, NE, son of John Harvey and Lucille Bernice (Johnson) Evert. He grew up in Hyannis graduating from Hyannis High School.  Following high school he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  With a semester left in school he volunteered to serve his country in the US Army serving from June 21,1966 until June 20, 1968.

He married Bonnie L. Aubushon on April 22, 1972.  They had two children Nicole and Brandon. They later divorced. John worked with Simon Contractors as a mechanic in North Platte, NE.  John lived in Gothenburg from 1972 until 2011 when he moved to Brady.

He loved ranching and spending time with his grandkids and going to their sports activities.   During the fall and winter months he loved to go shooting and  hunting.

Survivors include son, Brandon (Virginia) Evert of Brady; daughter, Nicole (Danny) Dishman of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren Austin and Bailey Dishman, and Clara, Grace and Emma Evert; brother, Lewis (Trudy) Evert of Brady, and numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents John Harvey Evert and Lucille Bernice Evert Jenkins.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 am with Greg Boller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gaslin Cemetery, Brady, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the Brady Volunteer Fire Department.
