Janice Lee Rickertsen, 64, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, passed away at her home on May 26, 2020 after a battle with cancer in Gothenburg, NE surrounded by her family and her loving husband.

She was born August 5, 1955 in Cozad, NE, daughter of Milton and Jewel (Roe) Schulz.  She attended school at Willow Island and graduated from Gothenburg High School.  She attended art school in Omaha and never lost her love for art and all things creative.  Jan married Archie Rickertsen on August 4, 1974 at Gothenburg and they had four children, Jarrid, Luke, Ginny and Holly.   Jan was a busy farm wife, mother and later her favorite role of "Nana". She enjoyed operating the combine while wearing her custom combine shirt with her personal motto of "Not Much Fear".

Jan was active in the First Presbyterian church where she was a member of Presbyterian Women, Youth Group Leader, and Sunday School Teacher.  She spent many hours volunteering opportunities in her community - CASA, Hospice, YMCA Advisory Board and TeamMates.  She was a member of a sewing circle and the PEO.  She loved to travel and play cards with friends.  Always the perfect hostess, she found her niche as the owner of an AirB&B.

Survivors include her loving husband Archie Rickertsen of Gothenburg, NE; two sons, Jarrid (Kristen) Rickertsen of Gothenburg, NE, Luke (Julie) Rickertsen of Jeffrey Lake, NE; two daughters, Ginny (Travis) Peterson of Gothenburg, NE, Holly Meints of Gothenburg, NE; her beloved foreign exchange student son Jeroen (Inge) Meijer of the Netherlands; 12 grandchildren; her mother Jewel Schulz of Gothenburg; two sisters, Sharon Auld of Warsaw, MO, Laurie Clark of Gothenburg, NE; brother, Ken (Heidi) Schulz of Anchorage, AK;  along with numerous extended family and a host of friends.
