James Jobman

James Dennis Jobman, 76, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died June 29, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born February 5, 1944 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Walter Leo and Ada Hope (Wustrack) Jobman. James grew up in the Gothenburg area and graduated from Gothenburg High with the class of 1962.  He joined ROTC while enrolled at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and was a Distinguished Military Graduate.  He served in the US Army as an officer from 1968-70 including time served in Korea.  After his discharge, he was active in the reserves until Dec. 1973.  James married Patricia Johnston on March 22, 1969 at Ft Meade, MD and they had two children, Patty and Shane. James started his business, Jobman's Floor Covering & Upholstery in 1970.  He retired from his floor covering business in 1998 and he and Pat continued to do upholstery until his death.   James loved the out-of-doors - spending time fishing, hunting, golfing and camping.  He also enjoyed bowling and woodworking.  His favorite pastime was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife Pat Jobman of Gothenburg; son Shane (Gidgit) Jobman and their sons Ryan and Patrick; daughter Patty (Don) Barkmeier and their children Travis and wife Amanda and their children Kaden and Kooper; Tyler and wife Tracy and son Jack; and Ashley and Zoie; his sister Jo Fuller and brother Tom (Rhonda) Jobman; along with many extended family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Hope Jobman.

Private Family services will be held.
