Jackie Schwanz, 75, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died September 9, 2022 in Elkhorn, NE.
Jackie was born June 9, 1947 in Hornell, NY, daughter of Eugene and Betty Jane Tournor.
Jackie grew up around the Buffalo, New York area before moving to Gothenburg when she was 15. She married the love of her life, Dick Schwanz in 1963 celebrating 59 years of marriage. and they have resided in Gothenburg for all 59 years.
She was a member of the Cornerstone Bible Church in Gothenburg. Jackie enjoyed going to coffee with friends, and attending Bible studies. Most of all, Jackie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jackie loved to cook for all of her family whenever she could.
Survivors include husband, Dick Schwanz of Gothenburg, NE; three daughters, Rhonda Schwanz of North Platte, NE, Lisa (Chad) Cole of Elkhorn, NE, Heidi (Jeff) Bartlett of Lincoln, NE; three sons, Kirk Schwanz of Lincoln, NE, Kevin (Nikki) Schwanz of Cozad, NE, Robert (Mary) Schwanz of Gothenburg, NE; 23 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren: six brothers, Bobby (Janice) Good of Denver, CO, Tom (Martha) Good of Australia, Larry (Deb) Tournor of Aurora, NE, Mike Tournor of Grand Island, NE, Chuck (Mary) Tournor of Hastings, NE, Gary (Susy) Tournor of Phillips, NE; sisters, Rhea Harm of Omaha, NE, Debra (Tom) Luff of Minden, NE; brothers-in-law David (Carol) Schwanz of Alma, NE and Howard Cornell of Erie, PA; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Micah Chambers, sisters, Nancy Cornell and Sharon Aden, brothers-in-law Randy Harm and Jerry Aden and sister-in-law Carol Schwanz.
Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, Sunday, September 18, 2022, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM with the family present from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
Services will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:30 am with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
