Dorothy Gaskill

Dorothy Ann Gaskill, 82, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 7, 2019 in Gothenburg, NE.

Dottie was born in Wichita, KS, to Earl and Florence (Walton) Kisner.  She went to school in Wichita and graduated high school from Beloit, KS.  After the death of her mother, she found another family in the home of Glen and Mildred Parrish and considered their daughter Linda to be a sister. She was working at a cafe and met a rough looking cowboy, James N Gaskill who stole her heart.  They were married on July 17, 1955 at Beloit, KS.  They became the parents of Lisa, Rhonda, James and Eric.  They made their home in Kearney and later in Gothenburg.   Dottie worked for many years for Wheelers and G-Tec.

Dottie was active and loved bowling and dancing.  She was involved in the Pony Express Ramrodders and spent many happy weekends with them.   She also enjoyed working in her yard on her beautiful flowers.  She was very competitive while playing board and card games with her family and friends. Dottie was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to all she came into contact with.

Survivors include her loving husband James N, two daughters, Lisa McNulty and Rhonda Kandler; son, James E (Leota) Gaskill; seven grandchildren Jonathon, Stephanie, (and their father Michael McNulty); Jennifer, Erica, Michelle, (and their father Jeff Kandler); James W, and Adam; 13 great grandchildren Thahira, Ciara, Sophia, Kayla, Nathaniel, Gavin, Madeyln, James, Keylee, Chloe, Kaydence, Aubrey, and Trevor; her brother Paul Kisner and sister Rhonda Trevizo; along with many niece and nephews and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Eric, her brothers Don, Bob, and Fred; grandson Dale; her foster family Glen and Mildred Parrish and their daughter Linda.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Saturday, August 10, 2019, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm. with the family present.

Funeral services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 Tenth Street, Gothenburg, NE, Saturday,  August 10, 2019 at 3:30 pm.

Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
