Barbara Jean Burke, 91, of Gothenburg formerly of Brady, died June 3, 2022 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Barb was born March 4, 1931 in Alma, MI, daughter of Theron and Alta (Crowell) Wolfe. Barbara grew up in Alma, MI and attended and graduated from Alma High School. She married Theodore M. Burke in Alma, MI on September 3, 1950. They lived in Lewistown, PA; Marlette, MI; Hermiston, OR; Grand Island, NE and Great Bend, KS until settling in the Brady area in 1973. They lived at Jeffrey Lake until moving into Brady in 1989.
She worked many years at Herberger's Department Store in North Platte. Barb enjoyed knitting and playing the organ. She was an avid fan of her kids and grandkids sports and took meticulous stats for their games.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Harry ) Stienike of Brady; three sons, Tim (Julie) Burke of Doniphan, David (Valorie) Burke of Brady and Brad Burke of Stapleton; five grandsons, Tyler Stienike, Nathan Stienike, Justin Burke, Keifer Burke, and Sawyer Burke; four granddaughters, Amy Burke, Angie Burke, Megan Emken, and Maggie Burke; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous extended family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Martin Burke and infant son Craig Burke.
Private Family Services will be held at Gaslin Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Brady United Methodist Church.
