Arlo Banzhaf

Arlo Ray Banzhaf, 85, of Cambridge, Nebraska, died January 15, 2022 at Tri-Valley Health in Cambridge.

Arlo was born February 22, 1936 in Cambridge, NE, son of Irene E. (Tridle) and Elbert J. Banzhaf.  He grew up at Orafino, attended school there and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1955.  Arlo married LaVonne Aden on February 19, 1956 in Gothenburg.  He grew up and lived on the family farm north of Cambridge and raised his three children there as well.  He was a proud rancher all of his life.

Arlo was Baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg and then later became a member of the Orafino Evangelical/Methodist Church transferred to St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis.  He raised Hereford Cattle, was a 4-H leader, Frontier County 4-H Council Member.  He enjoyed attending cattle sales and cattle shows, his kids participated in.  Arlo loved to visit with anyone and everyone he could.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, LaVonne  Banzhaf of Cambridge, NE; two daughters, Kelly (Tom) Tirrill, Britt (Blaine) Hill; son, Justin Banzhaf; two grandsons, Matthew Tirrill, Dusty (Bobbi) Tirrill; great grandson, Jase Tirrill; brother in law, Dean (Gaylene) Aden; sister in law, Lynnette Gunnerson.

Arlo was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Irene Banzhaf, grandparents Ralph and EffieTridle, great grandparents Charles and Gabrella Banzhaf, In-laws Emil and Judith Aden, sister, Lily Fern Wickham, great grandson, Eli Tirrill, brothers-in-law, Ron Aden and Dick Aden.

A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Curtis Community Center in Curtis, NE.

The Family Requests No Flowers and Memorials may be given to the Farnam Rescue Squad or to the family for a memorial to be established.
