Allen Martin Fickenscher, 93, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died July 17, 2022 at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg Nebraska.
He was born October 27, 1928 in Brady, NE, son of Martin and Marie (Thorell) Fickenscher.
He was a member of United Methodist Church. Allen married L. Maxine Atkinson on March 21, 1953 at Brady, NE and to this union three children were born - Nancy, Tim and Tom. The family made their home in Brady and then Gothenburg. He was self-employed as a carpenter, and built many homes in the surrounding area. He enjoyed wood working, turning bowls on the lathe, the outdoors, trees, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons, Tom ( Cindy) Fickenscher of Gothenburg, NE, Tim (Carol Windrum) Fickenscher of Omaha, NE; daughter, Nancy (John) Gerrard of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Gayland Fickenscher of AZ.
Allen was preceded in death by wife, Lois "Maxine" Fickenscher, father, Martin Fickenscher, mother, Marie Fickenscher, sister, Marlene Feddersen, and brother Irvin Stanard.
Graveside services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, July 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Carol Windrum officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.
