Tommy Palmer

Tommy Marcott Palmer, 79, of Brady, Nebraska, died March 19, 2017 in Kearney, NE.

He was born February 18, 1938 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Thomas Virl and Nina (Marcott) Palmer.

Tommy grew up at Brady and graduated from Brady High School with the class of 1956. Tommy served his country in the US Army for two years.  Tommy married Charlotte Moncrief on July 21, 1966 at Lexington. The two of them raised there children Gerry, Denise, Marc and Robert.  Tommy owned and operated a laundry mat and a bar in Brady for several years.  He started Palmer Auction Service in 1965 and retired in 2010.  Tommy was a big supporter of his community - attending community functions, school programs, sporting events, auctioning for charity and fundraiser events.  Tommy was the Grand Marshal in the 2016 Brady Day's Parade. He was the parade announcer for 13 years.  Tommy enjoyed hunting and fishing; collecting antiques and spending time down at the coffee shop telling stories.

Surviving are wife, Charlotte Palmer of Brady, NE, son, Gerry (Missy) Palmer of Pueblo, CO, son, Robert (Tami) Palmer of Brady, NE, daughter, Denise (Todd) Finnell of Brady, NE, ten grandchildren, brother-in-law Robert (Sandi) Moncrief, sisters-in-law, Bev (Gordon) Fitzwater and Joanne Lewis and a host of family and friends.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Virl & Nina Palmer, in-laws, Robert & Eilleen Moncrief, son, Marc Virl Marcott Palmer, brother-in-law Ken Lewis and nephew Tony Lewis.

Memorial Services will be held at Brady School Gym, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:00 am .

The Family requests no flowers.

Memorials may be given to the Brady Fire Department or the Gothenburg Fire Department.
