Shane Duis

Shane Robert Duis, 51, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 2, 2023 at Cozad, NE.

He was born November 16, 1971 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Lamoine and Linda (DeFruiter) Duis.

Shane loved anything that had wheels, whether that was cars, trucks, motorcycles, or four wheelers. He also had a love for his pets. In his early years, he could often be found out hunting or fishing with his dad, friends, or close relatives.

Survivors include two sons, Judd (Danielle) Gallardo of North Platte, and Justin Duis of Colorado; mother, Linda Gerdes of Cozad, NE; brother, Andrew (Wendy) Duis of Lincoln, three grandchildren, Holden, Hazlee, and Helena, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and friends.

Shane was preceded in death by father, Lamoine Duis, step-father, Kenneth Gerdes, both sets of grandparents, aunt Donna, uncles, Kermit, Mearle, and Clifford, cousins, Danielle, and Markie.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE, with family present.

Services will be held Monday, March 6, 2023, 2:00 PM, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, with Harvey Pierce officiating.

Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family for later designation.
