Myrna Loibl

Myrna J. Loibl, 77, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died October 9, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE with her family by her side.
She was born May 23, 1940 in Orange County, CA, daughter of Harold V. and Edith Bybee Halbgewachs.
After childhood residences in Norfolk and Cozad, NE her family settled in Mission, TX. They were beekeepers and spent a portion of the year in Texas and Nebraska She graduated from Sharyland High School in 1958. She attended business school in McAllen TX and worked as a secretary in Corpus Christi, TX. Her next appointment was as a bailiff in the Golden, CO juvenile court system. She then returned to Cozad and worked at the First National Bank until marrying Allan Loibl. They married on September 19, 1970 at Cozad, NE. They had 4 daughters - Cheryl, Lisa, Julie, and Crystal. Myrna was a busy farm wife and mother. She was also involved in Extension Club and was a 4-H and MOPS Leader. She was professional seamstress, sewing swimming suits for the Miss America and other children's pageants and was an avid knitter.
Survivors include her husband Allan of Gothenburg, four daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Brooks of Cozad, NE, Lisa (Rich), Wall of Centennial, CO, Julie (Paul) Podany of Castle Rock, CO, and Crystal Loibl of Parker, CO; six grandchildren: Matthew Brooks, Ryan Brooks, Brandon Wall, Andrew Wall, Megan Podany and Caleb Podany, 2 great grandchildren: Jacob Brooks and Lila Brooks; four brothers, Howard(Cynthia) Halbgewachs of Cozad, NE, Donnie(Barbara) Halbgewachs of Lulling, TX, Dickie (Charlotte) Halbgewachs of Austin, TX, Victor(Elaine) Halbgewachs of Cartersville, GA; sister, Linda(Ivan) Abbott of Hartington, NE; along with many extended family and friends.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents and her father and mother-in-law, Max & Irene Loibl.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, October 13, 2017, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm. with the family present from 5-7.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 1002 Ave C, Gothenburg, NE, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 am with Richard Halbgewachs officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cozad Cemetery, Cozad, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the Nebraska Organ Recovery Systems.
