Mynette Roblee

November 21, 1943 — December 18, 2018

Mynette Marie Roblee, 75, of Curtis, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born November 21, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas to Thearle “Parkie” and Fern Elizabeth “Betty” (Chapin) Parkhurst.  She grew up in Cozad but graduated from Chadron High School with the class of 1962 after her family relocated there her junior year.  She went on to further her education at Chadron State College.  She later earned her bachelors degree in Health Care Administration from Bellevue University.

Mynette was united in marriage to Lannie Roblee on February 16, 1964.  They lived in Cozad, Lexington and later moved to Curtis when Lannie took the position of Frontier County Sheriff.  To this union four children were born:  Michelle, Michael, Stacey and Mark.

In the late 60’s Mynette worked at Monroe’s in Cozad where she met Lannie and then was a cashier at First Federal in Cozad.  After moving to Curtis she worked as the bookkeeper for KN Energy.  Mynette dispatched for the sheriff’s office from their home and also provided meals for the jail.  She later owned and operated the Raider Inn Café in Curtis.  In 1979 she began working as the bookkeeper at Sunset Haven Nursing home and after 10 years took over the position of administrator of the facility.  She and Lannie started Midwest Special Services and after leaving Sunset Haven she worked with him to build their business.

Survivors include her husband, Lannie Roblee of Curtis, Nebraska; children, Michelle (Rusty) Wills of Maywood, Nebraska; Mike (Sylvia) Roblee of North Platte, Nebraska; Stacey (Jared) Richardson of Herman, Nebraska and Mark (Kristy) Roblee of Curtis, Nebraska; 15 grand children, Bailey Michaels of Lincoln, Kyler Michaels of Lincoln, Mallory (Lucas) Hall of Cozad, Shawn Roblee of Lincoln, Broedy Roblee and Brock Roblee both of North Platte, Tori Paulsen of Herman, Tate Paulsen of Gretna, Trev Paulsen and Tyler Paulsen of Herman, and LCpl Todd Paulsen of Okinawa, Japan.  Wyatt Roblee, Kaylyn Roblee, Austin Roblee and Mason Roblee all of Curtis.  Four step-grand children, Tristan Wills of Beatrice, Hillary (Chris) Zysett  of Hershey, Heather (Zak) Leas of Omaha and Wayne Wills of Silver City, NM.  Two great grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.  Sisters Sandy (Donnie) Franzen of Kearney, Nebraska, Barbara Story of Carrollton, Texas and close cousin Connie (Ron) Ourada of Kearney.  Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul David Parkhurst, parents in-law Ilah and Vern Roblee and brother in-law Tom Sabin.

Mynette was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was very proud of her family and loved being “Grammy” to her 15 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Curtis where she served on the board, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and also directed the children’s Christmas program.  Mynette was an avid gardener, skilled seamstress, and an exceptional cook.  She loved music and sang for many years with the Easter Pageant choir as well as Sweet Adeline’s.  Other things she was involved with were extension club, 4-H, Medicine Valley Booster Club, bowling and golf leagues and quilt guild.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Curtis, Nebraska with Dr. Rev. Tunde Oladimeji officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Curtis.

Burial will be in the Curtis Cemetery with refreshments following at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Curtis Senior Center.
