Muriel Campbell

Muriel Janet Campbell, 79, of Curtis, Nebraska, died September 7, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born November 21, 1934 in McCook, NE, daughter of William and Mildred (Lepper) Koetter. She grew up in McCook and attended school graduating from McCook High School in 1952. Muriel married Eugene Campbell on July 3, 1952 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. While still in high school she started working for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and continued working there until she and Gene moved to Curtis. After moving to Curtis, Muriel stayed at home to raise her children and enjoyed helping Gene on the farm.

Muriel was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Alter Society where she helped do many things for the parish. She enjoyed gardening and was a fantastic cook, she always enjoyed preparing family meals. Her favorite thing to do later in life was to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


She is survived by her husband Eugene Campbell of Curtis; daughter, Catherine Campbell of Ainsworth, NE; son, Calvin (Linda) Campbell of Maywood; son, Doug Campbell of Curtis; daughter, Diane (Tom Keys) Campbell of Ladonia, TX; son, Ted (Angie) Campbell of Curtis; son, Tom (Melisa) Campbell of Curtis; 12 Grandchildren Mandy, Kacey, Delton, Dustin, Bret, Spencer, Tempest, Cassidee, Kyle, Dirk, Allison and Nadia; six Great Grandchildren Colton, Ireland, Lillian, Reid, Bentley, and Cohen; brother, Bill Koetter of McCook; sister, Norma (Keith) Boner of McCook; sister, Mary (Harry) Lebsack of McCook; sister, Millie Koetter of Seneca, NE; brothers-in-law Carl Campbell, Melvin (Ginger) Campbell, sisters-in-law Nora Mulberry, Barb (Tom) Kennedy, Sharon Campbell and many neices and nephews.

Muriel was preceded in death by her parents William and Mildred Koetter.

Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Curtis, Nebraska; Tuesday, September 9, 2014 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm.

Services will be held at St. James Catholic Church , Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 10:30 am with Rev. Harlan Waskowiak officiating.

Interment will follow in the Arbor Cemetery, Stockville, Nebraska.
