Milton Sitorius, 86, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died June 25, 2018 in Gothenburg, NE.
He was born April 5, 1932 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Roy and Isla (Jackson) Sitorius.
Milton grew up with a passion and love for cars and motors. When he was in his teens he went to work for Haley's Chevrolet as a mechanic. He was also one of the pit crew for one of the first Nascar teams in Nebraska. In the late 50’s he and his partner Harold Knoedler started Riteway Auto Shop and ran it for the next 20 years. In the 70’s he purchased Gothenburg Irrigation but still kept part of the building for working on cars. Sometime in the midst of all these business ventures he purchased Big A Auto Parts and moved it in with the Irrigation business. Milt was always fixing something.He really enjoyed trapshooting, fishing, hunting. He was a member of the Cozad Gun Club and the Amateur Trapshooters Association where he earned several pins, awards and metals. He was proud of his bobcat hunting skills.
Survivors include daughter Betty (Bill) DeNise of Yuma, Arizona; son, Don (Nanc) Sitorius of Brady, NE; four grandsons and many great grandchildren; brothers Marvin and Howard Sitorius; brother-in-law, Kent (Elaine) Cole of Callaway, NE, sister-in-law, Konnie Wemple of North Platte, NE, sister, Judy (Darwin) Rosentrater of Haxtun, CO along with many nieces and nephews; special friends Jay and Joe Richeson, extended family and friends.
Milton was preceded in death by wife, Nancy Kay Sitorius, and his parents.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, June 28, 2018, 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
Graveside services will be held at Gothenburg Cemetery, June 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm
Memorials may be given to the Gothenburg High School Trap Team.
