Marcelline Cole

Marcelline E. (Zwickl) Cole, 85, of Curtis, passed away on October 7, 2014 at Great Plains Health Care Center, North Platte, NE.

Marcy was born March 25, 1929 in Herndon, KS to Bernard and Elizabeth (Kiaser) Green. She attended school graduating from Herndon High School in 1947. She married Raymond Zwickl on Oct. 12, 1948 in Herndon, KS. To this union they had six children, Bernie, Betty, Rosemary, Melvin, Jane and Patrick. Raymond passed away on September 13, 1997.

Marcy worked as a nurse aid at Sunset Haven from 1974 until the time it closed. Marcy always enjoyed helping others whether that be at work or in the community. She enjoyed woodworking but her true passion was her farm and cattle.

Marcy married Gene Cole on January 6, 2006 at St. James Catholic Church in Curtis.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Cole, three daughters, Betty (John) Nothnagel of McCook, NE, Rosemary (Kenneth) Higgins of Campobello, SC, Jane (Fred) Backer of Mc Cook, NE, two sons, Bernie Zwickl of Maywood, NE, Melvin "Joe" Zwickl of Exeter, NE; one brother Dan (Nadine) Green of Herndon, KS and sister Cecilia Green of Concordia, KS, 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Sherry (Sam) Zwickl-Baker of Wellfleet, NE and nieces and nephews.

Marcy was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her son Patrick Zwickl, three brothers John, Leo and Barney.

Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church, Curtis, Nebraska; Thursday, October 9, 2014, 1:00 pm - 7:30 pm with a Rosary at 7:30pm.

Services will be held at St. James Catholic Church , October 10, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Harlan Waskowiak officiating.

Burial will follow in the Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, Nebraska.
