Louise Peterson

Louise Bernice Peterson, 94, died Wednesday (September 20, 2006) at Community Hospital in McCook.


Louise was born on April 16, 1912 on a farm north of Curtis, NE, in Frontier County, to Garth and Flora (Larsen) Nichols. She attended grade school in rural Curtis and the Curtis Agricultural High School.


On May 16, 1931, she married Henry Nathaniel Peterson at Oberlin, Kansas. They lived on a farm south of Curtis before moving to McCook in 1965. She moved to Hillside Estates in Curtis in 2002.


Louise was a member of the Curtis United Methodist Church and later joined the McCook United Methodist Church. In Curtis she belonged to the Methodist Ladies group and in McCook she belonged to the Methodist Quilter's Society.


Survivors include son Larry Peterson and wife Joyce. 4 Grandchildren: Melodie Curnutt and husband Gary of Leadville Co, Troy Reed and wife Jennifer of Kearney NE, Blaine and wife Kristy of Omaha, and Stephen and special friend Jennifer of McCook. Eight great- grandchildren. Sister: Jesse Mae Severin. Sisters-In-Law: Doris Peterson of Curtis, NE, and Mary Nichols of Otis, CO. Louiseé�a��a��s nieces and nephews were very special to her. Also two children very important and special in Louiseé�a��a��s life were Barbara Norton of Eagar, AZ and Larry Thomson of Parker CO.


Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Hubert, Lawrence, and Orvile Nichols, sister Ardis Jesse, infant son Rodney Allen and infant grandson Nick Alan Peterson.


Memorials may be sent to the Hillside Estates in Curtis, NE.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Curtis, NE, with Rev. Kevin Burkhardt officiating.


Visitation will be on Friday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis, NE.


Burial will take place at the Curtis Cemetery, Curtis, NE.
