Louis Roggensees

Louis Andrew Roggensees, 82, of Lexington, Nebraska, died June 13, 2014 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born July 13, 1931 in Holbrook, NE, son of Albert "Shorty" F and Pearl Remona (Robeson) Roggensees.

Louis grew up at Holbrook and Cambridge, NE and graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture at Curtis in 1948. He served his country for two years in the US Army during 1952 -1954. He lived in Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, California, Oregon and Florida. He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation. Louis was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Red Bluff Rotary. He spent many hours in volunteer work with local organizations. He enjoyed RV'ing and people watching.

Survivors include: daughter, Tammy Reeder; two grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Rodney "Swede") Swanson; domestic partner, Mary Purvis; niece, Marilyn (Lee) Cruse; nephew, Gregg Buker; 2 great nieces, 5 great nephews; along with many friends and extended family.

Louis was preceded in death by father, Albert "Shorty" F Roggensees; mother, Pearl Remona Roggensees; brother, Wesley Dean Roggensees; brother-in-law, Glen E Buker, sister-in-law, Genevieve Roggensees; his first wife, Joan Roggensees; 2nd wife, Elaine Roggensees; niece, Lanelle Buker Carlson.

Louis was cremated and will be inurned at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00 am with military honors.
