Lois Austin

Lois Rose Austin, 91, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 21, 2018 at Gothenburg Health.

She was born February 19, 1927 in Traer, KS, daughter of Fred and Gertrude Leitner.

Lois loved gardening and enjoyed spending time in her backyard. Her main interest was caring for her husband Mac and son Tim. She loved her dog Reggie, and all of her many friends. Lois enjoyed volunteering at Hilltop Estates.

Surviving are son, Terry (Mary) Austin of Saint Louis, MO, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Vernelle Austin, brother, Don (Nona) Leitner of Boulder, CO, brother, Gary (Caroline) Leitner of McCook, NE.

Lois was preceded in death by husband, Charles McKinley Austin, Jr., sons, Tim and Tom Austin, and her parents.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Monday, March 26, 2018, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Services will be held at Victory Assembly of God, Tuesday,  March 27, 2018 at 10:00 am with Pastor Mark Borchardt officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.
