Lloyd L. Streeter 82, of Gothenburg passed away on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. Lloyd LeRoy Streeter was born on February 18, 1925, the eldest of Joe and Margery (Harding) Streeter of Elm Creek, NE. He was raised and received his education in the Elm Creek area. He entered the U.S. Navy on March 12, 1945 and was honorably discharged on August 20, 1946 having served his country on a transport ship. On June 15, 1948, Lloyd married Delories Block at her parenté�a��a��s home northeast of Gothenburg. They lived their entire married lives in Gothenburg. In December 1948 he began work at Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District. He retired as a canal superintendent over 40 years later. After retiring, Lloyd and Delories enjoyed many winters in South Texas. Lloyd loved the outdoors and was known for his abundant garden, camping and his ability to repair anything. Lloyd was a member of the American Legion and the American Lutheran Church. He was baptized in the American Lutheran Church in 1951. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Delories; three sons: Cal (Diane) Streeter of Pflugerville, TX; Craig (Kay) Streeter of Gothenburg, NE; and Carl (Donna) Streeter of Ord, NE; two daughters Connie (Jim) Dalrymple of Gothenburg, NE; and Colleen (Bill) Ramsay of McCook, NE; five brothers: Chet (Sheila) Streeter of Polk, NE; Joe Streeter of Riverton, WY; Dwain (Sherry) Streeter of Evanston, WY; Ray (Judy) Streeter of Hays Center, NE; and Eugene (Joyce) Streeter of Brady, NE; three sisters: Lila Snart of Stanley, WI; Ellen Taylor of Heppner, OR; and Shirley (Jerry) Dozier of Portland, OR; 15 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter Bailey Kay. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm Mon. Feb. 18 with the Family present from 6-8 Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 19, 2008 American Lutheran Church Gothenburg, Nebraska with Pastor Matthew Groenke and Lonna Grabenstien, PMA officiating. Burial will take place in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Lutheran Church, Senior Center Landscaping or Donoré�a��a��s Choice.
