Lesley Loutzenheiser

December 17, 1910 — November 14, 2006

Lesley MacFarlane Loutzenheiser, 95, of Wahoo, NE, formerly of Gothenburg, NE, died on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 in Wahoo. She was born on December 17, 1910 to Malcolm Lesley and Faye Hitchcock MacFarlane in Friend, NE.


She was married to Homer C. Loutzenheiser on June 3, 1939.


Lesley attended the Nebraska Wesleyan University where she was a member of the Willard Sorority. She received her B.A. in Science in Education degree from Kearney State College in 1962. She taught in the Sutton, Gothenburg and Broken Bow schools and was the first librarian of the North Platte Junior College from 1965 to 1967. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington and also Chapter FS P.E.O. in Lexington. In North Platte she was a member of the Playhouse Board, a volunteer at the Christian Concern Nursery School and served two terms on the Public Library Board.


She is survived by 2 daughters: Jean (Roger) Mann of Ashland and Nancy (Mark) Gilderhus of Fort Worth, Texas. 6 Grand-Daughters: Tammy (Jim) Hottovy of Gretna, Cathy (Scott) Christiansen of Omaha, Cindy Wokoma of Lincoln, Heidi (Neal) Herring of Gretna, Kirsten (Chris) Fisher and Lesley (Matt) Jones all of Fort Collins, CO. 11 Great-Grandchildren: Chelsea & Nicole Hottovy, Jacob, Benjamin and Zachary Christiansen, Wade Wokoma, Dustin, Logan and Riley Herring, Della Fisher and Morgan Jones.


She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Homer on February 17, 1994.


Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, NE, with Rev. Rick Rehmert officiating. Visitation is Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family present to greet the public from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
