Lellus Boden

Biography

Lellus Grayce (Neth) Boden, 80, of Brady, NE, passed away September 24, 2014 at the Callaway Good Life Center in Callaway, NE.

She was born January 13, 1934 in Rising City, NE, daughter of Walter and Hazel (Taylor) Neth. She attended rural schools in Ashland and Waverly and graduated from Brady High School in 1953.

On October 25, 1953, Lellus married Edgar Boden in Clarks, NE. Their marriage was blessed with three sons - Walter Henry, Edgar Gregory, and Charles Wayne. Lellus was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served as Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher, choir member and on various committees. She is remembered serving the Lord with her chalk talks and putting her artistic ability in service to God. She shared her art across the world. Lellus enjoyed sharing her newspaper writing and reporting. She spent several years involved in Women In Agriculture. Her faith and family were her stronghold.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Edgar Boden of Brady, NE; three sons - Walter (Sue) Boden of Kearney, NE; Gregory of Lincoln; and Charles (Beth) Boden of Brady, NE; five grandchildren - Jennifer (Mike) Owens, Angela (Ulrich) Dossou, Ryan, Kristen, and Hannah Boden; six great grandchildren - Jacey, Sebastian, Suzie and Layla Owens; Grace Machamire and Noah Dossou; two sisters - Marjorie McReynolds of Pullman, WA, Elsie (Conley) Hinrichs of Lincoln; two brothers - Charles (Beverly) Neth of Waverly, John (Beverly) Neth of Norfolk; sister-in-law Elladine Berryman of Cozad; all of Lellus' special caregivers and numerous nieces, nephew and dear friends.


Lellus was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lucille and Curly Washecheck; brothers-in-law Bill McReynolds and Don Berryman and granddaughter Jessica Boden.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, September 28, 2014, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. with the family present from 4-6.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Carol Mapa and Rev. Janie Freeman officiating.

Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to the Brady United Methodist Church, Zion Lutheran Church, ALS in the Heartland, ALS Worthington Society, and MDA.
