Kip Larson, a beloved member of the Gothenburg, Nebraska community, passed away on April 11, 2023, at the age of 70.
Kip was born on May 2, 1952, in Gothenburg, NE, to James Junior and Roberta Elaine Larson. He was a member of Cornerstone Bible Church and had a passion for rebuilding and creating hot rods, going to car shows, and baking "no" sugar treats.
Kip lived in Gothenburg for most of his life until he moved in with his son, Chad, in North Platte in 2019. He was a skilled mechanic who built specialty cars and enjoyed spending time with his family. Kip loved watching westerns and always had a jar of Jolly Rancher and Hot Tamales in his shop office.
Kip is survived by his brother, Kirk (Terri) Larson of Dodge City, KS; his sister, Kori Larson of Palatine, IL; his uncle, Randy Stevenson of Tehachapi, CA; his two sons, Chad (Tabatha) Larson of North Platte, NE, and Chris (Stephanie) Larson of Kearney, NE; his daughter, Stephanie (Jerry) Larson-Riewe of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Jennifer, Quentone, Joseph, Kaylee Larson, Crede Smith, Slade Moerke, Trevor, Tyler Roenfeldt, Mariah, Michael Adams, Brandon Elonzae, Brittney Riewe, great-grandchildren, Kora, Kacen, Adalyne, Maeve, Rhett Roenfeldt, August, Jackson and Owen Weatherly, Rayna Adams, Easton Stevens, Lunna Larson, Tylor Runyan, Duke and Polar. Nieces Jami George, Jill Hubbard, and nephew Jace Larson.
Kip was preceded in death by his parents James and Roberta Larson, and his grandmother, Vivian Rose Stevenson.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg, Nebraska, on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church on April 17, 2023, at 10:30 am, with Pastor Scott Newman officiating. Interment will follow at the Cottonwood Cemetery in Cozad, NE.
