Kenneth Sheffield, 75, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died February 6, 2024 in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born April 29, 1948 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Verlo and Alice (Garrelts) Sheffield.

On October 12, 1968 he married his long time wife of 55 years, Donna (Wooldridge) Sheffield. To this union four children were born: Jesse, Jennifer, Travis and Ashley.

Kenny attended trade school for carpentry. For years later he was a master at his trade. As he built several homes, remodeled and any creative projects his wife and kids would request of him. Also discovered a high interest in building cremation urns. He also enjoyed trapping, was an avid collector, and in his early years raising coon hounds and coon hunting.

He felt being a grandpa was his greatest accomplishment and loved spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include: his wife Donna, daughter Jennifer Doxzon (Shane), son Travis Sheffield, daughter Ashley Garza (David). Grandchildren J.T., Josie, Chauncey, Sophia, Taylor, Skylar and Alice. Sister Connie Jacob, aunt Linda (Bill) Hughes, uncle Glenn Garrelts. Family friend Greg Maurer.  Preceded in death by his parents and son Jesse Sheffield.

A register book signing will take place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 1:00 - 7:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1020 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE, March 8, 2024 with Pastor David Boyd officiating.

Memorials may be sent to the family for later designation.
