Ken Lenz

April 12, 1950 — August 6, 2018

Kenneth D. Lenz, 68, of Gothenburg passed onto eternal life on August 6th, 2018 in the comfort of his home.

Ken was born April 12, 1950 to Paul and Iona Lenz in Curtis, NE. Kenny spent his childhood in Moorefield, NE and graduated from Curtis High School in 1968. Following, Ken served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. Ken married the love of his life, Susie Fisher, on August 30th, 1980 and settled in Gothenburg to raise their family. Ken was a licensed electrician by trade and member of the IBEW 1920, having worked for Monroe, Frito Lay, and most currently the Union Pacific Railroad. However, the job titles that Ken was most proud of were Dad and Papa. When not working, Ken loved to golf, watch football, and spend time with his family. Faith was an important part of Ken’s life. One highlight of his week was attending church on Sunday morning at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Never knowing a stranger, Ken possessed a generous soul and kind heart always putting family and friends above himself.

Ken was survived by: his wife Susan Lenz of Gothenburg, his daughters Chelsey (Chance) Fessler of North Platte and Brittany (Justin) Gibbens of Overton; lights of his life (grandchildren): Ainsley and Charisma; his mother: Iona Lenz of Moorefield; his siblings: Cheri (Jim) Bopp of Culbertson, Dale (Laura) Lenz of Oxford, Iowa, Dwight (Nancy) Lenz of Moorefield, Jeff (Kim) Lenz of Maywood, Kevin (Brenda) Lenz of Seward, Leslie (Robin) Lenz of Papillion, Katie Lenz of Alliance, Dennis (Tracy) Lenz of Stillwater, New York; and countless in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins each holding a special place in his heart.

Ken was preceded in death by: his father Paul Lenz of Moorefield, and numerous beloved aunts and uncles.
