Judy Wilcox

Judy Ann Wilcox, 61, was born April 30, 1945 in Wichita, KS to Richard and Audrey (Cole) Malloy.


She moved with her family to Stockville, NE and in 1954 they returned to Wichita. In 1958 they moved to Sidney, NE where Judy graduated from high school. She moved to Casper, WY where she worked for a telephone company.


She married Donald G. Wilcox, her husband of 36 years, on December 1, 1969 at Casper. Four daughters were born to this union, Torie, Shanel, Tracie, and Brenda. Judy and Don lived in Riverton, WY and in 1986 moved to Billings, MT where they resided until moved to Sheridan, WY in 1990 where they operated a construction business. In 2001, they retired and purchased a ranch near Carson, ND where they have resided since. In August of 2005 Judy was diagnosed with cancer and has been battling it since. She passed away on Monday morning October 16, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. She was surrounded by her family when she went home with God.


Judy's hobbies included sewing, baking, and interior decorating. Her most passionate hobby was setting up and displaying her Christmas village collection. In 2004, she set up her village in a vacant building in Elgin and opened it to the public to come share and enjoy with her. Judy was known as mom to many children as her children were growing up. She touched the hearts of all who had the privilege to meet her.


Judy is survived by her husband, Don, Carson, ND; 4 daughters, Torie Hutchins, Bismarck, ND; Shanel Shanahan, Cheyenne, WY; Tracie (Kirt) Pyle, Casper, WY; Brenda (Jim) Haskett, Sheridan, WY; 14 grandchildren, Matt Shanahan; Bridgette Gursky, Ryan and Matthew Shanahan, Amanda Kalii, and Robert Hutchins, Stephanie, Nikkie, Kellie, and Julie Pyle; Jacob, Adam, and Sam Haskett; 1 great grandson, Wyatt Shanahan; 1 brother, Michael Malloy, Sheridan, WY; 1 sister, Diane Crapson-Raggio, Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, three brothers and one sister.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19, at St. Johné�a��a��s Lutheran Church in Carson, ND with Pastor Dale Carmen, officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin, ND. Serving as casketbearers are Dorn Wilcox, Vince Mockensturn, Mike, Charles, Dale, and David Mauck.


Donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the Ronald McDonald House.


A second visitation will be held on Sunday, October 22, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Funeral Home in Curtis NE. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, at the Arbor Cemetery at Stockville, NE with Pastor Kevin Burkhardt officiating. Serving as casket bearers are Jim Haskett, Kirt Pyle, Steven Cole, Gene Cole.
