James Houchin

James Michael Houchin, 34, of Gothenburg,NE died July 2, 2014 in Gothenburg.

James was born March 3, 1980 in Cozad, NE, son of Michael and Pamela (Warner) Houchin. He attended school and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1998.

On July 15, 2000 James married his soul mate Mia Zysset at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis, NE. To this union three children were born: Mina Manon, Ada Frances and Ami James.

James worked for both Mike's Enterprises and Mike's Sanitation over the years.

James loved motorcycles, tattoos, heavy metal music and his dog Jax. His pride and joy were his kids. He enjoyed writing and drawing. His family and church were very important to him.

James is survived by his wife Mia Houchin, daughters Mina and Ada and son, Ami; father Michael Houchin; brother Travis (Mindy Lewis) Houchin; grandparents Arthur & Josephine Houchin and Ben Warner; mothers and fathers-in-law Kim and Miriam Stratton and Dale Zysset. Uncles Lonnie Warner, Brad Warner and William Houchin; aunts Patricia Stevens, Linda Rodine, Rita Fiese and Cindy Crites and numerous cousins.

James was preceded in death by grandmother Lorraine Warner, mom Pamela Mary Houchin and a baby angel lost in Oct. 2009; cousins Chris Metzger and Shawn Crites.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Monday, July 07, 2014 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.

Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, July 8, 2014 at 10:30 am with Pastor Jon Mapa and Pastor Eric Most officiating.

Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the family for an Educational Fund for his children.
