James Breeden

James Cecil Breeden, 87, of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away March 2, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Cozad, NE.

He was born October 12, 1926 in Schell City, MO, son of James L Breeden and Dolly (Fiske) Breeden. He graduated from Schell City High School with the class of 1944. James entered the United States Army on January 17, 1945 and served during World War II until he was honorably discharge as a Staff Sargent on August 28, 1946.

James married Evelyn Reiter on November 27, 1949 at Lexington; to this union two children were born- Kathryn and Bill. James worked for the UPRR for 40 years in Cozad and Callaway area. He was a member of American Legion Post # 77 - Cozad, VFW Post # 890, Cozad Country Club, and Wild Horse Country Club.

Surviving are wife, Evelyn Joan Breeden of Cozad, NE, daughter, Kathryn and husband Ernest Nelsen of North Platte, NE, sister, Bonnie and husband Steve Pfister of Lexington, NE. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

James was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bill Breeden, brother, Paul Breeden, and two sisters, Fern Dodd and Kathryn Kyle.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday March 9, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at Cozad Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Donor's Choice.
