Helga Lenora Anderson, 96, of Brady, Nebraska, died October 30, 2018 at Gothenburg Health in Gothenburg.
She was born January 10, 1922 in Cozad, NE, daughter of William A Christiansen and Adelaide K (Jensen) Christiansen.
Helga was born and raised in Cozad and graduated from Cozad High School.
Helga worked as a waitress and also owned her own restaurant. She loved her music and loved crafting and gardening, and lots of
canning. She enjoyed building swings and clocks and her and her husband loved to travel the countryside. Helga enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, Durl Floyd Anderson of Brady, step-son, Dennis (Penny) Anderson of Holdrege, step daughters, Gerrie Roberson of Alda, Becky (Earl) Johnson of Scottsbluff, Brenda Anderson of North Platte, Sheila Anderson of Grand Island, and Shelley St. John of Bennington, sisters, Gail Reed of Cozad and Wilma Quelle, 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Helga was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Zachary Lehl, brothers, Earl Christiansen and Alvin Keith Christiansen, son-in-law Scott St. John, brothers-in-law Jack Reed and William Quelle and first husband, LaVern Kostman.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE; Thursday, November 1, 2018, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.
Services will be held at Brady Community Bible Church, November 2, 2018 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Robert Litzenberger officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Cozad, NE.
Memorials may be given to the Brady Community Bible Church.
