Gladys L. Hudson, 90, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 12, 2014 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

Gladys was born August 23, 1923 in Brady, NE, to Andy and Amanda (Thiesing) Hite. She attended Gothenburg High School graduating with the class of 1941. Following high school she taught for one year.

On December 25, 1942 she married Earl Hudson at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. To this union two sons were born; Ron and Gerald. Gladys and Earl loved camping and traveling to country music festivals. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed quilting for the church and especially for her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons Jerry (Joyce) Hudson of Gothenburg, and Ron (Carol) Hudson of Shelton, granddaughter, Stacey (Patrick) Winters of Riverdale, NE, grandson, Mark (Heather) Hudson of Ravenna, NE, grandson, Brian (Rachael) Hudson of Sau Paulo, Brazil, granddaughter, Becky (Ryan) Splichal of Omaha, NE; and six great grandchildren: Laynee, Hank, Kade, Pete, Finn and Grace.


Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, of 67 years, Earl, her parents, two sister Rose Ramsey and Sharon McMichael, four brothers Jasper, Dale, George, and Stan.



Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, August 14, 2014 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jon Mapa officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.
