Gerald Slack

Gerald Dean Slack, 83, of Curtis, Nebraska, died November 18, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.

Dean was born March 27, 1939 in Brady, NE, son of Gerald Floyd and Ina (Newtson) Slack. He grew up south of Gothenburg attending District 32 for his elementary years.  In 1958 he graduated from Gothenburg High School.  In his early years he learned life on the farm helping his dad run the tractors and run the team of horses which he continued to help with following high school.   Dean also enlisted in the National Guards after high school.

Dean married Pamela Marie Jepsen on March 27, 1989 in North Platte, NE.

Dean was a member of McCook Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include wife, Pamela Marie Slack of Curtis; son Shane Slack, daughter Shannon Slack Lippitt of Kearney; sister, Donna Hazen of Farnam; Stepchildren- Angie (Jon Helmer) of Shanwee, KS and Arlan (Bobbie Meints) of Steinauer, NE; grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Ina, son Scott, daughter Stacie and brothers Ronnie Slack, Eugene Slack and Gary Slack.

Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, McCook, NE with Pastor Tim Osborne officiating.

Memorials may be given to the family.
