Biography

Gary Lee Suhr, 67, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 17, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.

He was born July 2, 1947 in Tilden, NE, son of Gustav and Magel (Emde) Suhr.

Gary grew up at Wisner, Pilger & Lodgepole. He lived in Lexington from 1970-1979. He then moved to Gothenburg where he lived the rest of his life. Gary married Ira on May 26, 1979 at Cozad, NE. Gary enjoyed gardening and working on cars. They thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with his granddaughter.

Surviving are wife, Ira Suhr of Gothenburg, NE, son, Steve (Sonja) Suhr of Bancroft, NE; brothers Glenn (Mitzi) Suhr of Scribner, NE, Leonard (Linda) Suhr of Lodgepole, NE; sister, Edna (Dallas( Hartman of Oshkosh, NE, 4 grandkids along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Otto & Zelda Emde, parents-in-law, Alexander & Irlande Markin, uncle & aunt, Melvin & Lois Emde.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Wednesday, August 20, 2014 9:00 am - 7:00 pm.

Services will be held at Gothenburg Cemetery, August 21, 2014 at 10:30 am with Lonna Grabenstein PMA officiating.

Burial will take place in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
