Frances Schultz

Frances B. Schultz, 87, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died January 16, 2017 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

She was born March 6, 1929 on the family farm north of Willow Island, NE, daughter of Cobus and Hedwig "Hattie" (Gerdes) Ostendorf.  She lived in the Gothenburg area all of her life.

Frances was baptized and confirmed in the St Johns Lutheran Church.  She was a 50+ year member of the American Lutheran Church. Frances married Harold Raymond Schultz on June 29, 1952 at Gothenburg, they had three children - Carol, Raymond and Charles. Frances worked for many years as a dishwasher at several cafes.  She enjoyed making pretty things including embroidered table clothes, dresser scarves, cross stitch, crochet, and needlepoint.  She also enjoyed being part of the Women's Circle, church and family events.

Survivors include  daughter, Carol (Ronald) Ackerman and their families - Jason (Tracy) Ackerman and their children Bailey, Makenzie, Tyler and Landon;  Rebecca Sutton and children Danielle and Joey.  Her son, Raymond (Ruth) Schultz and their families; along with numerous extended family.

Frances was preceded in death by husband, Harold Raymond Schultz in 1998; son, Charles David Schultz, grandson, Cory Schultz, by her parents Cobus J. and Hattie Ostendorf; all of her siblings, Sophie Brecks, Ida Lindner, Margaret Schnackenberg, Cobus G. Ostendorf, Marcus Ostendorf, Edward Ostendorf, Orville Ostendorf, Vera Caroline Schmitz, Mary Ann Williams, and three siblings that died in infancy.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Monday, January 23, 2017, 1:00 pm - 3:00 am.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, January 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jon Mapa officiating.

Burial will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, NE.

Memorials may be given to the Schultz Family.
