Floyd Lindekugel

Floyd A. Lindekugel, 88, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 25, 2014 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born September 12, 1925 in Hershey, NE, son of Fredrick William "Bill" and Clara (Culp) Lindekugel.

Floyd grew up in the Hershey and Brady areas and attended schools there. He enlisted in the US Navy and served his country for three years during WWII on the US Corregidor, USS Mission Bay and USS Barnwell. Floyd married Marjorie Sherman on April 30, 1954 at Lexington, NE. They lived in North Platte, NE 1954 to 1959. They lived in San Bernardino, CA from 1959 to 1985 while Floyd worked as a sheet metal worker in Riverside. After retirement, they returned to Nebraska, making their home in Gothenburg. Floyd was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie; son Jim (Shelly) Lindekugel; daughter, Paula (Larry) Hashman; daughter, Joan (Tom) Lunsford; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a sister Hazel Wynne; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Jerry; grandson Tim Lindekugel; brothers - August, Charles, Ivan and Ervin Lindekugel; sisters - Bertha and Edna Lindekugel, and Esther Founds.

Cremation was chosen. Memorial services and inurnment in Gaslin Cemetery will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2014.
