Fayette Harwick

Fayette Murile "Bud" Harwick, 95, of Curtis and North Platte, Nebraska, died December 23, 2013 in Greeley, CO.

He was born January 19, 1918 in Lincoln County, Nebraska, son of Fayette Murile and Ethel (Grange) Harwick. He grew up in Moorefield and graduated from Moorefield High in 1936. Bud served as a deputy sheriff in Lincoln County, was Frontier County Treasurer, and worked most of his years as a salesman of heavy equipment.

On December 25, 1937 Bud married Ardis Dempcy at North Platte, NE. To this union three children were born: Jolene, Jack and Jim.

Bud was a member of North Platte Elks Lodge; lifetime member of Oddfellows Lodge of Curtis; North Platte Woodcarvers Club; and the Congregational Church of Curtis. He enjoyed woodworking, woodcarving, wood burning art, oil painting, and clock works.

Surviving are son, Jim (ZoeAnn) Harwick of Greeley, CO; daughter, Jolene Harwick of Greeley, CO; daughter-in-law, Karen Harwick; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by wife, Ardis Harwick in May 2012; son, Jack Harwick; father and mother; brother Kenneth Harwick; sister Eugenie Rayback; six brother-in-laws; and five sister-in-laws.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, 421 W 4th, North Platte, NE, under the direction of Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Curtis with Pastor Jean Miller officiating.

Inurnment will take place in the Moorefield Cemetery.

The family requests that Memorials may be given to recipient of your choice in Bud's name.
