Emilyn Kay Krone, 70, of Gothenburg, died September 6, 2020 in Gothenburg, NE.

Kay was born May 5, 1950 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Edward Robert and Audrey Fae (Grunden) Krone. She graduated 8th grade from Sleepy Hollow District 4 country school.  She then graduated from Farnam High School with the class of 1969. While in high school, she was a member of 4-H and the Pep Club.   Kay spent many hours reading and watching TV.  She loved to watch sports and kept record of all the stats of her favorite teams.  She enjoyed going to her nieces and nephews games and activities.  She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved attending stock car races.  She enjoyed playing card games especially pitch and solitaire.  Kay was a homemaker to the core, and spent many hours keeping house for her family while they were outside working. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed helping people.  Kay lived on the family ranch until 1996 when she moved to Farnam.  While in Farnam, Kay worked at the Senior Center.  In 2004, she moved to Curtis where she worked at the Curtis Senior Center and Medicine Valley Schools.  She later moved to Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.

Survivors include her siblings and their families, Ed (Deb)  Krone; Cheryn Beck, Donna Stevens, Mary (Nick) Klintworth.

Kay was preceded in death by father, Edward Robert Krone, mother, Audrey Fae Krone; brothers-in-law Kim Stevens and Gerald Beck; niece Elizabeth Stevens.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, September 18, 2020 from 10:00 AM to Noon with the family present.

Graveside services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Friday, September 18, 2020 at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Curtis Senior Center.
