Dorothy Delores Fenner, 87, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 3, 2015 at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born August 1, 1927 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Herman and Rixte (Westerbuhr) Franzen.
Dorothy attended grade school in a one room school house and graduated from Gothenburg with the class of 1945. She was baptized and confirmed at the Christ Lutheran Church northeast of Gothenburg. Dorothy married Rex Fenner on February 8, 1948. To this union three children were born son - Eric, two daughters Carol and Audrey. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and confirmation for many years at Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed very much being sponsors of the Luther League. She also enjoyed working in her huge garden. She was a member of the quilting club in the church, sang in the church choir. Dorothy loved going to softball and baseball games and enjoyed her family. She will be missed by all.
Surviving are husband, Rex Fenner of Gothenburg, NE; son, Eric (Beverly) Fenner of Gothenburg, NE two daughters, Carol (Loren) Gronewold of Sedona, AZ, Audrey (Terry) Haake of Denton, NE; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Willard (Marjorie) Kuhlman of Gothenburg, NE; and sister-in-law, Crystal Johnson.
Dorothy was preceded in death by father, Herman Franzen, mother, Rixte Franzen-Harms, sisters, Melitta Antrim and Della Kuhlman.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, March 6, 2015, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm with the family present from 6-8.
Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Carol Mapa officiating.
Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
