Donna Werkmeister

Donna Werkmeister, 81, of Maywood, passed away at Bryan LGH Hospital on November 11, 2013.

She was born on July 11, 1932, in North Platte, NE, daughter of Lake and Bertha (Dowdney) Shultz.

On August 14, 1949 she married the love of her life, Max Werkmeister; from this union came eight children which was a full time job for many years. They lived in and around the Maywood and Wellfleet area all of their lives. Donna led a full and happy life. She loved sewing and making quilts. Donna enjoyed two - step dancing at area towns with her extended family. Most of all she loved being around her children, grandkids, and great grandkids. She will be missed greatly.

Survivors include five sons - Doug Werkmeister of Mc Cook, NE, Fred (Lavonne) Werkmeister of Gothenburg, NE, Joe Werkmeister of Maywood, NE, John (Karen) Werkmeister of Cambridge, NE, Dennis (Ila) Werkmeister of Maywood, NE,; three daughters - Diane Werkmeister of Kearney, NE, Della (Doug) Pabst of Maxwell, NE, Denine (Damon) Werkmeister of Maxwell, NE; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by husband, Max Werkmeister, sister, Neva Alyward, brother, Jerry Schultz, brother, Wayne Schultz and her parents.

Register book signing will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 1:00 - 8:00 pm at Blase- Wetzel- Strauser Memorial Chapel in Curtis, NE, with family present from 5:00 -7:00 pm.

Graveside services will be held at Maywood Cemetery on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 11:00 am with Lonna Grabenstein PMA officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Maywood Public Schools.
