Donna Lee (Wilson) Smith

Donna Lee Smith, 78, of Maywood, NE died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
Donna was born September 27th, 1935 at Maywood, NE to Carl and Alma Schnase. She grew up in Maywood and attended Maywood Public Schools until her graduation in 1953. On February 6, 1954 she married Gerald Wilson. To this union 8 children were born. On May 4, 1979 she married Eldon (Al) Smith with whom she enjoyed her life until his death in 2008.

While living in North Platte, Donna spent many years at the Holiday Inn as the front desk supervisor. She later moved to Lincoln where she spent several years as a homemaker. In 1988 Al & Donna moved Palm Desert, CA where Donna worked in the travel industry. In 1991 they returned to retire in Maywood, NE. Donna enjoyed being active and retirement didn't suit her, so she later opened her own retail gift business in Maywood which eventually resulted an expansion to North Platte. Donna and her daughter, Annette, owned and operated "it's all that!" gift & gourmet for 10 years before Donna decided she might actually enjoy being retired.

Donna is survived by 7 children; Janice (Daryl) McCaslin of North Platte, NE, Dianne (Jake) Kreick of Lincoln, NE, Cheryl (Steve) Christianson of Indian Wells, CA, Nancy (Kyle) Motes of Kilgore, TX, Russ Wilson of Grant, NE, Rex Wilson of Twin Peaks, CA and Annette (Brett) Wood of Maywood, NE. 11 grandchildren; Jill (Ty) Timmons, Tina (Jim) Holm, Jay McCaslin, Megan (Jim) Nosbish, Joe Christianson, Katie (Trevor) Chatterton, Kyleigh Motes, Lance Wilson, Sara Wilson, Paige Wood and Alexis Wood; 10 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other family. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her sister; Connie, her husbands, and an infant son; Robbie Lee.

Services will be held at Maywood Christian Church, April 5, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dale Heimer officiating.

Private family Inurnment will be held in the Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, Nebraska.
