Delories Elaine Streeter, 85, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 5, 2013 at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital in Gothenburg, NE.

Delories was born November 14, 1927 to Rankey and Ellen (Buesing) Block. She became a child of God through baptism in December 1927. She renewed these vows at her confirmation at Christ Lutheran Church in 1943. She was lifelong member of the Lutheran community in Gothenburg, first at Christ Lutheran Church and then at American Lutheran. She claimed the promise of her baptism on March 5, 2013.
Delories grew up northeast of Gothenburg and attended Rural School District 84. She graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1945 and earned a teaching certificate from the State of Nebraska. She taught rural school for three years in District 82.
On June 15, 1948, she married Lloyd L. Streeter. They made their home and raised their children in Gothenburg.
Delories was a gifted and patient teacher, and a lifelong learner herself. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles, writing poetry, and working on family genealogy. Delories loved to cook and bake for family gatherings, raise beautiful gladiolas and preserving the bountiful harvest from the garden. She was an outside-the-box innovator who loved trying new thing such as hosting Christmas in June to make it easier for her large scattered family to celebrate together, even if out of season. She will be remembered by her family for the gorgeous afghans she crocheted for her grandchildren at their baptisms and graduations. She enjoyed traveling and cherished the years she and Lloyd wintered in Mission, Texas. During her retirement years she learned to play pool, shuffleboard and paint china.
Delories was a former employee of the Gothenburg Times, Dudley Elementary School as secretary and Gothenburg Public Works Division.
Delories is survived by her five children: two daughters, Connie (Jim) Dalrymple of Gothenburg, NE, and Colleen (Bill) Ramsay of McCook, NE; three sons, Cal (Diane) of Pflugerville, TX, Carl (Donna) of Ord, NE, Craig (Kay) of Gothenburg, NE; 14 grandchildren, Chad (Shellie Stull) of Central City, NE, Corey of Seward, NE, Cressy Daharsh of Gothenburg, NE, Brian and Aaron Streeter of Pflugerville, TX, Brooke (Kurt) Stevens, Blayre Streeter, Blake (Mary) Streeter all of Gothenburg, NE, Jay (Mandi) Schmierer of Rapid City, SD; Cara (Chris) Scudder, Jenna Dostal of Omaha, NE, Cale Streeter of Kearney, NE, Lauren (Micah) King of Ravanna, NE, Eric Ramsay of McCook, NE, J. D. Dalrymple; 22 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were husband Lloyd, her parents, Granddaughter Bailey Kay, and brother Milton (Ruth) Block.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, March 07, 2013 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm with the family present from 5-7 pm..

Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, March 8, 2013 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Tom Wilson and Lonna Grabenstein PMA officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to the American Lutheran Church, Helping Hands or the Donor's Choice.
