Debra "Debbie" Spencer, passed away on November 27, 2024 at Gothenburg Health, surrounded by her loving family.
Debbie was born December 4, 1955, in Scottsbluff, NE to Larry and Lorraine Lowe. She was Baptized at the First Baptist Church in Scottsbluff. Debbie attended Gering High School and later earned her associate's degree from Western Nebraska Community College. Debbie married Christopher Spencer on August 9, 1975 at the Church at Bryant, in Scottsbluff, NE. She worked as a bookkeeper and advertising salesperson for various newspapers in Chadron, Hot Springs, and Gothenburg. Debbie was a kind and caring individual who touched the lives of many through her spirit and dedication to her family, church and community.
Beyond her career, Debbie cherished the moments spent with her family. She had a profound love for crafts and was a supporter of her children’s and grandchildren's activities. Throughout her life, she took great pride in teaching Sunday School and leading Bible studies, sharing her faith and values with those around her.
She is survived by her husband, Chris Spencer, and their children: Jeffrey (Jennifer) Spencer of Sioux Falls, SD, Mary (Robert) Schwanz of Gothenburg, Alexander (Ashley) Spencer of North Platte, Brennan Spencer of North Platte, Grandchildren, Tanner (Mandy) Schwanz, Siera (Trevor) Reimnitz, Tyson Schwanz, Skyler Schwanz, Emily Schwanz, Jackson Schwanz, Megan (Wyatt) Heezen, and Mason LeMaster, Great-Grandchildren, Brynn Schwanz, Maris Reimnitz, Maeve Reimnitz, Silas Reimnitz, and Shepard Reimnitz. She is also survived by her sisters, Dayna Seger of Ogallala, NE and Linda (Duane) Tonniges of Columbus, NE. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Lorraine, who undoubtedly guided her path with love.
Debbie's legacy will continue through the countless lives she has influenced and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a remarkable example of kindness, compassion, and devotion that will be forever cherished.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, December 8, 2024, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm with the family present.
Services will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, December 9, 2024 at 10:30 am with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Cornerstone Bible Church.
