Carol Arent

Carol Arent passed away on October 6th, 2018 at Good Samaritan Village in Loveland, CO.  Carol was born on October 1st, 1926 in Freedom, NE to Ellsworth and Fern Hanes.  She grew up on the family farm south of Stockville, NE and graduated from Stockville High School.

Carol married Charley Arent on May 23, 1953 in McCook, NE, and celebrated their 65th anniversary this last May.   They had four children Randy Lee, Charla May, Paul Frederick, and Kent Ellsworth.  Carol and Chuck raised their family and farmed south of Stockville until 1971 when they moved to Red Feather Lakes, CO.

Carol worked at many of the local grocery stores and restaurants in Red Feather, while Charley built homes there. During the winter months Carol made 100’s of Christmas wreaths. Carol loved bringing her grandkids to the mountains for a few weeks every summer.

Charley and Carol were well known in the community and their friends and neighbors always knew they could call on them for help with anything they needed.

They moved down to Good Samaritan Village in Loveland in 2015.  They made a lot of new friends here and really enjoyed their new home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Kent, her parents, her two sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her husband Charley, sons Randy (Janice) Arent, Paul (Candice) Arent, and daughter Charla Werkmeister, grandchildren Nick Werkmeister, Emily (Andy) Anders, Katie Werkmeister, and Kelvin and Brandon Arent, great-grandchildren Jaxson, Oliver, Leo and Sunny, and brother Robert (Joyce) Hanes, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Memorial Service was held at Good Samaritan Village, 2101 Garfield Ave in Loveland, CO on October 18th.  Graveside services and burial in Maywood will be Saturday, October 27 at 11:00 am at the Maywood Cemetery with lunch to follow at the Maywood Community Hall.
