Bonnie Glo Aubushon

July 3, 1928 — May 19, 2023

 

Bonnie Glo Aubushon,  94, of Brady, NE died on May 19, 2023, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. She was born on July 3, 1928, in Gothenburg to Robert and Eldora Brown.

Bonnie Glo attended Pleasant Valley School and Maxwell Public School before her parents moved to Gothenburg where she enrolled in school from the fourth grade through twelfth and graduated in 1946.  She married Willard E.G. Aubushon of Cozad and had four daughters: Marcene Franzen of North Platte, NE, Elaine Flies of Kearney ,NE, Bobbi Hyer of North Platte, NE, Tammy Aubushon of North Platte, NE.

Throughout Bonnie's life, she accomplished several things, including being named "Mrs. Congeniality" in a Mrs. Nebraska competition. She was proud of her work as a volunteer at the Canteen and active member of the Brady Beauties Red Hat Society.

Bonnie Glo  had an incredible career path; she started by working for Dr. Pyle and Cal Stickleman while attending school before moving to work in various fields such as the Gothenburg Times and KAMI radio station; she later worked at Lynn's Electric company and then at the Chamber of Commerce in Gothenburg and North Platte. For ten years Bonnie managed the Pawnee Retirement Hotel before serving as an activities director at North Platte Care & Centennial Retirement Village She then found fulfillment working as a Para Professional with Brady Public Schools before retiring.

While not working or volunteering around town, Bonnie enjoyed spending time pursuing hobbies such as writing, cowboy poetry presentations, crafting or going out into nature to explore. She also had a talent for collecting various items that brightened up any room.

Bonnie Glo  is survived by her four daughters: Marcene (Daryl) Franzen of North Platte; Elaine (Roy) Flies of Kearney; Bobbi Hyer (special friend Lloyd Enyeart) of North Platte; Tammy Aubushon of North Platte;  sister Bettie Lee (Ted) Haney; seven grandsons: Rob (Kim) Franzen, Mark (Danelle) Franzen, Ryan (Tracy) Franzen, Tony (fiancé Michelle Schneider) Aubushon, Travis (Angela) Flies, Brandon (Virginia) Evert, two granddaughters: Nikki (Chopper) Dishman, Nashea (Jon) Meduna: twelve great-granddaughters: Kaitlyn Holm, Abigail Franzen, Harley Franzen, Chloe Franzen, Payzlie Franzen, Riggin Flies, Elleyana Meduna, Pheenyx Meduna, Holden Meduna, Clara Evert, Grace Evert, and Emma Evert; and seven great-grandsons: Willard Franzen, Garrett Flies, Caleb Flies, Trenton Flies, Austin Dishman, Bailey Dishman,  and Ricky Holm.  Plus numerous  nieces , nephews, and friends.

Bonnie Glo was preceded in death by her husband Willard E.G. Aubushon, her parents Robert and Eldora Brown, and grandson Tulsa Flies.

Bonnie Glo will be remembered for her kind heart and spunky personality towards everyone she encountered. Her memory will be forever cherished by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE; Thursday, May 25, 2023, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St., Gothenburg, NE; Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:00 am with Pastor Tammy Aubushon officiating.  

Committal service will  immediately follow in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE.  A lunch will be served at the Brady Community Hall , all are welcome.

Memorials may be given to the Brady Public School Foundation.
