Billie Kay Navarrete, 65, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, was called home and entered heaven’s gates on December 13, 2018.
She was born September 18, 1953 in Emporia, KS, to William Melvin and Sylvia May (Lawson) Allen. Billie grew up in North Platte and attended Buffalo and Madison Schools. She married Eddy Lupe Navarrete on May 26, 1969 at North Platte and they had four children – Venisea Kay, Eddy Lupe “Eddy Boy”, Ruben Anthony, and Christopher Allen. The family moved to Gothenburg in 1976, where she attended the Nazarene Church and the Crossing Fellowship.
Billie enjoyed spent a lot of time baking, cooking, sewing, and shopping at the “segundas”, yard sales and second hand stores. Her Mexican food and holiday dinners were enjoyed by many friends and family. Billie’s generous heart, knew no bounds, her shopping expeditions often resulted in gifts sent far and wide to those in need, or just because she wanted you to know she was thinking of you.
Billie is survived by her husband, Eddy Navarrete, two sons, Ruben Navarrete of Gothenburg, NE, Christopher Navarrete of Charleston, SC; daughter, Venisea Navarrete and her husband Richard Jackson of Chappell, NE; six sisters, Bev Dunmire of Cozad, NE, Grace Dight of Gothenburg, NE, Nancy (Allen) Jackson of Gove, KS, Diana Linkenauger of NC, Carol Jones of Phoenix, AZ, and Karrie (Bobbie) Mead of Lexington, NE; seven grandchildren Rico (Tacy) Navarrete, Quintin (Christina) Jackson, Keyan, Jorgey, Jessy, Faith and Brittnea, and six great grandchildren Eli, Elijah, Shaylee, Bently, Meloney and Jakari; along with many extended family and friends.
Billie was preceded in death by her son, Eddy Boy Navarrete, grandson Eli Navarrete, her parents, William and Sylvia, mother-in-law Aranda Navarrete and sisters Vickie Parker and Myrtle Zeigler.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Monday, December 17, 2018, 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.
Funeral will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, The Crossing Fellowship, 1510 8th Street, Gothenburg, NE with Pastor Eric Most officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the Family to help with expenses in care of Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE 69138.
