Betty Werkmeister

Betty Werkmeister, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on May 18, 2023, at Senior Living Choices in Curtis, NE. 

She was born on October 3, 1928, in Maywood to James and Anna Robertson. Betty attended and graduated from the School of Agriculture in Curtis. Betty married Elgie Werkmeister on September 22, 1948 in North Platte. Together they lived the majority of their lives on the farm in Maywood. Her roots ran deeply into the farm life that she cherished so much. Betty had a profound love for flowers and enjoyed having her grandkids and great-grandkids over at the family farm.

Her legacy will continue through her children Elwyn Werkmeister (son) and Sherri Werkmeister (daughter), along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Betty's brother Charles (Connie) Robertson also survived her.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Elgie, her parents, James and Anna, brother, Warren Robertson, and sister Donna Arnold. 

Betty’s passion for agriculture and flowers made an impact on everyone she met. Her kindness was infectious, leaving everyone enriched after a conversation with her. 

Graveside services will be held at Maywood Cemetery, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Dale Heimer officiating.
