Betty Fecht

Betty Norene Fecht, 85, of Gothenburg, NE, died August 20, 2016 at Gothenburg Health.

Betty was born May 27, 1931 in Cambridge, NE, daughter of Lester and Fern (Bogel) Trosper.

Betty grew up south of Gothenburg and attended school in Gothenburg where she graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1949. Following high school, Betty attended Kearney State College. Betty was a school teacher for many rural schools. On March 9, 1952 Betty married Keith Fecht at the Banner United Methodist Church. To this union three children were born Wayne, Katherine, and Micheal.

Betty was a member of the women's extension club, women's Methodist group where she served as President and secretary, she enjoyed quilting and was a member of the quilt club, she was also a member of many other church groups and activities. Betty enjoyed singing, attending Bible studies, gardening, canning, and especially enjoyed being grandma to the grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her sons Wayne (Sandy) Fecht of Salem, OR; Micheal (Mary) Fecht of Wray, CO; daughter, Katherine (Jerry) Donner of North Platte, 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Paul and Lloyd, and grandson David Donner.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, August 23, 2016, 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm with the family present from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Services will be held at Brady United Methodist Church, August 24, 2016 at 10:30 am with Rev. Janie Freeman officiating.

Interment will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Brady United Methodist Church, 301 N Market, Brady, NE 69123.
